Broadcast

The costs of Video and Audio program distribution over satellite do not depend on number of broadcast sites as in traditional distribution way over terrestrial cable- or microwave lines. Everybody can receive the program within the coverage zone of satellite. The only recurrent costs are the rent of satellite capacity. The occupied bandwidth can vary depending on quality requirements of specific customers. Powerfull BSS satellites allow to implement also Direct To Home broadcasting of Digital TV package.

Arcus Radio

ArcusRadio
Sirius2 FSS 5E coverage zone
Sirius3 BSS 5E Nordic coverage zone

ArcusRadio is solution of radio program delivery from studio to terrestrial transmitters over satellite with following rebroadcast for local audience.

The transmit satellite station of ArcusRadio comprise audio encoder, satellite modem, RF transceiver and parabolic 1.8 - 2.4m antenna. Receive station include 1.2 - 1.8m antenna, LNB and Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRC). For one radio program a 128–256 kbps satellite channel is used. The price for satellite channel rent starts from 1000 USD per month.

Optionally multiplexing of radio program into Digital TV package of BSS transponder is offered. This way the reception of radio program with a simple consumer TV MPEG receiver in the whole satellite coverage zone is possible. More about BSS solution You can learn in ArcusTV.

Arcus TV

ArcusTV
Sirius2 FSS 5E coverage zone
Sirius3 BSS 5E Nordic coverage zone

ArcusTV comprises several solutions of video content delivery:

  • TV program contribution or program delivery from studio to terrestrial transmitters and/or to BSS (Broadcasting Satellite Services) uplink station for following multiplexing into the digital TV package. For program delivery high efficient 8PSK or 16QAM modulation is implemented thus saving satellite capacity costs 1.5 – 2 times relative to the traditional QPSK modulation. For TV program reception professional 8PSK or 16QAM Integrated Receiver Decoders (IRC) are used;
  • TV program distribution – broadcast over FSS (Fixed Satellite Services) transponder in QPSK modulation. This modulation is supported by all consumer TV MPEG receivers. One TV program is occupying 4-6 Mbps digital satellite channel;
  • TV distribution over BSS transponder in multichannel digital TV package. This solution is most cost-saving in the sense of satellite capacity usage and has most-effective coverage enabling TV signal reception by small 60-90 cm antennas. For the moment not all countries has BSS (Broadcasting Satellite Services) uplink stations, therefore usage of BSS uplink station in Stockholm and Riga, Latvia are offered. For multiplexing of TV programes into BSS package from other countries TV contribution over satellite can be used.
  • Occasional services for Satellite News Gathering and Ad hoc events. Minimal satellite capacity time ordered are 10 minutes. Transponder bandwitdths offered - 2,25 MHz, 4,5 MHz, 9 MHz, 18 MHz. For second and following hours discounts available. More about Occasional TV...

Most popular satellites for ArcusRadio and ArcusTV solutions are Sirius2, Sirius3.

Arcus File

ArcusFile
Sirius2 FSS 5E coverage zone
Sirius3 BSS 5E Nordic coverage zone

ArcusFile is solution of DVB/IP delivery of large amount of data files integrating Internet and satellite communication advantages. It can be used for software, newspaper content, audio and video records distribution which file sizes can reach tens and hundreds of Gigabytes. ArcusFile solution allows avoiding of multiple broadband terrestrial data channels between central server storage and customers premises. Moreover, the infrastructure of terrestrial communication at customer site is absolutely unimportant.

The files of the customer are delivered by Internet or leased lines to the central server located at the satellite uplink station. At scheduled time slots this information is sent to DVB /IP encapsulator and broadcasted over satellite. Satellite receivers located at the customers sites are receiving this data stream and filtering the dedicated data packets according their IP and MAC addresses. Data files can be simultaneously distributed between all users or delivered to dedicated groups of customers according to the settings in DVB/IP encapsulator. Minimal ArcusFile transmission time ordered is 10 minutes. Digital channel rates offered are from 2,5 Mbps to 23 Mbps.
